$Double Room or Twin-share - $200 per week total. Available now for self contained accommodation in private home. Suit Students, Workers or Holiday Accommodation - Maximum of two people. We are a caring and mature Australian couple with a 5 bedroom family home near Southport Park Shopping Centre. 3 Single Bedrooms and 1 Twin-share or Double Bedroom are set up for student accommodation but are equally suitable for short stay or emergency accommodation. Two Single Rooms are upstairs and normally used for Homestay. The Twin share or Double Room and one Single Room are downstairs and are self-contained with their own Kitchenette and Bathroom. Linen, washing machine, kitchen facilities, wireless broadband, and electricity are all included in the price. You are welcome to share the upstairs lounge and TV with family and other guests. Large back yard and park nearby for recreation. Major shopping centre and Imagine Education Centre are just five minutes walk away. Tavern and popular fast food outlets are ten minutes walk. Southport CBD (Australia Fair, TAFE, Brownâ�&ique st;��&frac 12;s English Language School, Shafton Gold Coast Campus and Griffith English Language Institute) are two minutes walk then ten minutes bus ride. Bus to Surfers Paradise is about eight minute walk then seventeen minute ride (due to traffic). These are all an easy bike ride or you can walk if you are so inclined. Plenty of on street parking if you have a car. Griffith University Gold Coast Campus is typically 30 - 40 minutes each way by bus. To encourage our guests to speak English only, we do not accept two overseas students with the same native language at the same time, except for couples in the double room. We have a 20 year old Cantonese male and a 20 year old Japanese male upstairs in Homestay at the moment. Our 28 year old son currently occupies the Single Room downstairs. We have been hosting overseas students since 2004. After raising three sons we previously preferred to host females only, to see what we had missed out on, but now we know so we are happy to have either males or females.
