History

Gold Coast Flatmates began in July 2008 as a research project by I.T students at Griffith univerisity and later joined with Australian Migration company Sharon Harris and Associates to assist clients seeking share accommodation. The website is privately owned and operated by Flatmates center PTY LTD. Users can join for free, browse list of flats or flatmates and search by suburbs, gender, rent amount and more criteria to connect and interact directly with other owners, tenants, or sub-tenants. Property owners can advertise their property and add up to 10 photos per property including full details of what they have to offer. Tenants and subtenants can also create Ad for themself and let others know that they are looking for a place to move in too. Every member can send them messages, update their personal profile to notify friends about themselves. As the domain name shows, the website's is limited to Gold Coast Australia.
